Description / Responsibilities
We will study how changes in sea ice conditions (thickness, snow cover, presence of leads) impacts the overlying atmosphere.
My tasks on MOSAiC
We will make atmospheric boundary layer measurements using unmanned aircraft.
My biggest challenge
Being away from home for 3 months with limited communication will be the biggest challenge.
I am most excited about
I've spent 14 field seasons in the Antarctic but other than a few field programs in Svalbard, Norway I haven't done any Arctic fieldwork so I'm excited for this new experience. I am looking forward to starting my leg in polar night conditions and watching the transition to polar day throughout my time in MOSAiC.
