My tasks on MOSAiC
To operate the measuring systems in and on top of the OCEANET container for aerosol research. My favorite instrument is the multiwavelength polarization lidar PollyXT_Arielle that measures vertical aerosol profiles. Aside from that, I will operate two sun photometers, two disdrometers, two microwave radiometers, and radiation measurements.
I am most excited about
To get known the Arctic area. Its internal relations, its relations to the surrounding areas, its colors, its sounds, its rest, its “busyness".
To measure vertical aerosol profiles at a region of the world where never such measurements had been taken before.
To get at feeling of understanding how the Arctic atmosphere relates to the atmosphere outside of the Arctic (for instance in respect of particles layers and humidity).
