My tasks on MOSAiC
Measuring the microwave emissions of sea ice surface by operating a wideband radiometer in order to estimate the properties of ice remotely.
I am most excited about
I'm very excited because this is going to be my first time working in a polar region. Second, it's a long term expedition which means we can conduct our experiments throughout the year, and then compare our findings with various measurements performed by other scientists. The major challenge will be the protection of our electrical instrument from the harsh environent all year long.
