Description / Responsibilities
I am the PI of AROMA, oversee and advice on various oceanographic instrumentation deployments, including turbulence measurements. I have contributed with several on-ice installations and I am sending one scientist to participate in the last leg of MOSAiC, funded by AROMA through the Research Council of Norway.
My tasks on MOSAiC
Quantify vertical fluxes in the upper water column, relate the variability to environmental conditions (external forcing, wind, tides, ice conditions, ocean circulation, submesoscale processes). Describe the role of ocean heat flux in modulating the sea ice thickness and area.
